Let me introduce myself. I’m a 64 year old orthopaedic surgeon. As I have a sports background (international hockey player with participating in the Olympic Games in 1988 bronze medal and 1992, Worldchampion in 1990), I’ve always been interested in the biomechanics of the knee and sports related injuries, which are primarily ACL and meniscal lesions. When I worked in a general hospital I’ve also done a lot of trauma surgery. My other main interest have always been osteoarthritis of all joints, but especially knee and hip, but dedicated myself solely to knee surgery for the last 15 years.

Working in a treatment center, demands specialization and a strong feeling for a service based approach towards the patients.
This means in my opinion, give the patient readily access to high level healthcare and perform this in the best possible way.
This asks a different approach from the orthopedic surgeon, in which area I have specifically practiced for the last 20 years.
Committing to a specific joint means earlier recognition of the problem, when something is not standard, gives better operating skills and performance, less operating time and less complications, because you do most operations very often and most times with the same operating team.
We have to be realistic, that we cannot promise a 100% result in any case, but we certainly strive for it.
And last but least and as now being a devoted golfplayer , I must admit that I like performing kneesurgery as much as I love playing golf!
